On Saturday 5 stars for Shene the store manager and 0 stars for MTN technical support: 2024/01/27, I went to the MTN Laguna Mall store to have an esim loaded so that I could use my LTE enabled watch while excercising without having to carry my phone around with me.The esim was loaded succesfully at first but this lasted for about 30 minutes after which I could not connect to the MTN Network using my exisiting physical sim nor the newly loaded esim. I was unable to make calls using my existing number for 12 days. Shene the store manager tried everything in her arsenal to try and get me connected, including phoning the MTN help centre, to no avail. One does not appreciate the gravity of the aforementioned until a situation like this presents itself. Most secure sites e.g. banking apps etc require the registration of a cell number for access in order that you can receive a OTP to gain access. All ones regular and business contacts need to be notified so that they can contact you. It's a nightmare to say the least. My biggest gripe however is the fact that it became very evident that the store is not being provided timeous backend/technical support from Corporate MTN for registering an esim, in particular when things go wrong. Case in point is that it took 12 days of daily emails, phone calls and general badgering to reverse the esim and get me back back onto the network. I must admit that moving to another service provider crossed my mind many times and this would have been the case if not for the MTN Laguna Mall Store manager Shene's constant communication with me on the matter. Thank you Shene for all the trouble you went to and all the stress you must have been under trying to resolve the matter. Your customer service in trying your utmost to resolve this matter is top notch, well recieved and humbly appreciated. As for MTN technical support, you really need to have a deep look into the aforemntioned and find out where you can speed things up and provide your customers with a wholistic mobile and technology driven solution...and yes, that includes having the ability to timesously and successfully register an esim or approve a sim swop.
